While the carbon concentration of ferro chrome is normally low (between 0.1% and 10%, depending on the grade), the chromium content can range from 50% to 70%.

6. The manufacturing of additional chrome-based alloys, such as low carbon Ferro Chrome and high carbon Ferro Chrome, requires both chromium and iron, which is provided by ferro chrome, an important commodity in the ferroalloy industry.
